The arched top style case with the original glazed trunk
door and arched glazing to the sides, decorated with
exhibition quality carved climbing roses to the door frame
emanating from a intricately carved basket to the lower
door.
The shaped and moulded base further decorated with high
quality rose carvings and rosebud finials, a matching
carved mask beneath the dial.
The quarter sawn oak figured backboard with silvered
brass beat scale.
Two original door locks with keys and the original
hinges.
The 9" circular engraved silvered brass dial with outer
minute track and Roman numerals, signed to the dial GH
& C Gowland, Sunderland, cast brass sighting ring
surrounding the dial.
The fully restored movement of eight day duration, united
by four turned pillars. with Harrison’s maintaining power
and deadbeat escapement.
Polished brass cylindrical weight with ornate fretted
pulley and blued steel screws.
The faux mercury jar style pendulum with brass frame,
knurled rating nut and polished steel rod.
Finely fretted heart shape blued steel hands.
