Case

A fine quality Georgian mahogany longcase clock with a twelve inch break arch brass and silvered dial signed Chas Quenouault, London. The London case veneered in beautifully figured flame mahogany, of good colour and patina. The pagoda topped hood surmounted by cast brass finials, below brass inlaid fluted columns with brass capitals. The pagoda centre with intricately worked sound fret. The long trunk door with well figured flame veneer, raised panel to the base with double plinth.

Dial

A twelve inch break arch brass and silvered dial signed Chas Quenouault, London. Having a subsidiary strike/silent dial to the arch, subsidiary seconds dial and ringed calendar dial above VI. The finely matted dial centre with gilded ornate cast spandrels.

Movement

The high quality movement is of eight day duration with five knopped pillars, an anchor escapement and strikes the hours on a bell.

Weights and pendulum

The original brass cased lead weights and brass bob pendulum with brass strap

Hands

Finely fretted blued steel hands of serpentine design.
