Overview

A high quality Regency 8 day mahogany bracket clock of beautiful colour and patination, by Robert Westwood of London, in excellent original condition with the fine quality movement fully restored.

Case

The high quality case veneered in beautifully figured flame mahogany with silk lined brass sound frets, brass carrying handles. Brass moulding and ebony strung bordered recessed panels surrounding the dial, standing on a moulded plinth and four brass bun feet. The chamfer top surmounted by the original brass pineapple finial. Opening cast brass bezel with convex glass and the original locking mechanism. The opening glazed rear door with the original lock.

Dial

The convex round white dial ( original finish) with Roman chapter, signed to the centre Westwood Princes Street, Leicester Sq, London, with strike silent lever above the XII,

Movement

The fully restored,high quality, twin fusee movement of eight day duration, united by five knopped pillars, with the original anchor escapement and striking the hours on a single bell, with strike silent facility. Heavy brass bob pendulum, with London style rating adjustment and knurled thumbscrew pendulum restraint. Fully signed to the backplate, Westwood Princes Street, Leicester Sq, London.
