A fine example of a late 19th century French deep red
tortoise shell and cut brass inlaid Boulle mantel clock in
the Louis XV style.
The beautiful quality case of waisted design decorated
with fine quailty boulle work of deep red shell veneer
delicately inlaid with shaped cut brass to the front,
sides and interior. Finely cast ormolu mounts to the front
and sides, the shaped glazed front with visible starburst
pendulum and inlaid boulle work interior.
The decorated circular gilt dial with enamel roman
numeral cartouche tablets, cast brass ormolu bezel and
convex glass.
The fully restored eight day movement with Brocot
suspension, rack striking the hour & half hour on a
single bell.
Stamped with makers medallion 'Vincenti Paris' and
numbered.
Blued steel hands.
Overall this is a very impressive clock of slighty
larger proportions and with the benefit of been
decorated on the sides and interior.
The case is in fine original condition with the
tortoiseshell and boulle work in perfect order.
The clock has been sympathetically cleaned and the
movement fully restored to a high standard by our FBHI
restorer.
