A fine quality 8 day English fusee timepiece wall clock
by Adams & Sons of London circa 1840.
Case
The flame mahogany veneered and brass inlaid case with a
cast brass bezel and the original convex glass .
The well-proportioned case with a narrow mahogany dial
surround, finely carved mahogany ears to the case sides and
brass inlaid curved bottom drop box with opening pendulum
access door retaining its original lock and key.
The mahogany back box with two opening side doors and the
original fastening pegs, all in excellent original condition
and of good colour and patination.
Dial
The convex painted white dial with a
Roman chapter ring and signed to the centre Adams and Sons
London.
Movement
The fully restored 8 day chain driven
timepiece fusee movement of excellent quality.
The original brass bob pendulum with brass strap and brass
butterfly fusee winding key.
Hands
Blued steel spade design hands.
An excellent quality clock in fine original condition
throughout with the movement fully restored.
