Overview

A very good and unusual mahogany and gilt brass mantel four glass mantel clock.

Case

The high quality gilt brass and finely figured mahogany four glass case with beautiful cut glass colums. The shaped mahogany pediment with gilded applique, beneath bevelled edge glass flanked by perfect condition cut glass columns capped with finely cast capitals. The inverted break front mahogany base with gilded appliques, standing on four gilded ogee feet.

Dial

The circular gilded and enamelled dial with a fine engine turned style centre and decorated outer cast bezel.

Movement

The fully restored good quality spring driven 8 day French movement, striking the hours and passing half hour on a curled blued steel gong. Decorative gilded and false mercury glass jar pendulum.

Hands

Beautiful blued steel hands of gothic design.
